Macmillan Festival has ran in Nottingham for eight years so far, and this year the Tap and Tumbler was invited to join the festivities and become a hosting venue for one of the stages. It was my job to work alongside Tommy Kelly, the pubs manager at the time, to find and book bands to play the event. My role was then extended to manage the stage and ensure that all bands received riders and were on stage at the right times. I was able to do this alongside sound mixing for the event. I learnt a lot from this experience in terms of both sound engineering a festival and the importance of communication between all bands, engineer, venue and promoters. I had a fantastic experience and enjoyed every second of the event.
